Air Plant

Typically when you see an air plant on a shelf for the first time you think to yourself, is that real? Yes, it is! They are epiphites which are found in nature growing off of tree trunks, branches or even small cracks in rocks. As houseplants however, you can simply set them on a shelf or place them in a cute air plant holder. This is because their roots are only used for stability rather than the uptake of nutrients. Great for anyone who likes pretty plants but doesn’t want to deal with dirt!

These little cuties are very easy to care for too. All they require is a nice soak once a week and misting in between. Be sure just to soak the roots rather than the whole plant. The “nooks and crannies” of the air plant should remain fairly dry or they can rot. Because of this it is a good practice to turn your air plant upside down after you mist it so that the water can run off rather than down into those crevices.

There are so many different air plants to choose from and we always have a nice selection here at the nursery for you to shop from. Some are big and some are teeny tiny. Many will even be boasting a flower. We also sell lots of different displays and decorative moss for you to create the perfect gift for yourself or another plant lover in your life.
