Weeping Flowering Cherry

Prunus x ‘Snofozam’

If you have been looking to add a show stopper to your yard then look no further than the snow fountains weeping cherry. We get excited each season to bring these flowering trees in to start decorating the nursery with after a long winter. With strands of white flowers cascading beautifully all the way down to the ground it’s no wonder that this tree is named snow fountains. Speaking of snow, these naturally weeping cherry trees are no snow birds! They are hardy to zone 4 making them a great tree for our climate.

If it’s a small space you’re working with, that’s OK! These trees don’t need much space at all. Growing at a slow pace, the snow fountains will reach a mature height somewhere between 8 and 15 feet with a spread of about 8 to 12 feet. Their width can certainly be tamed by selective pruning each spring if you want this tree to greet your guests immediately upon arrival in the parking strip. You also want to snip any rogue branches that choose to grow straight up rather than weep. You can simply cut them all the way back to discourage that growth habit.

The bees will definitely thank you for planting this flowering tree so BEE sure not to apply any chemicals on or near your tree that would harm them. The snow fountains weeping cherry tree is thankfully very disease and insect resistant so you should not need to do anything except fertilize regularly each spring and once again through the growing season. We proudly recommend either of our Happy Frog Fruit and Flower or Down to Earth Rose and Flower granular fertilizers for this blooming beauty.
